ok

rippin, granted I have a 3" body lift too , I have the 35 12.5 procomp extreme tires, my rims dont have the offset so when I turn too sharp the tires rub on the front sway bar, I dont suggest taking off the front sway bar, I dont have the rear on but still have alot of top heavy roll, and by the way mine dont rub the fenders too much but i am still gonna cut them cause they do if flexed too much. hope this helps alittle, mike:chug:

I think 33's are the max without rubbing or minor rubbing. I currently have 32X11.5's with no rubbing and when these tires get old I will replace with 33X12.5's.

I have warn manual hubs and they work great. I think the majority of people also went with Warn.

As far as sway bars I started a post on them so you can keep an I on that thread. I'm looking into making disconnects for the sways. I still kinda drive a little fast and even thou I have the RS9000 set on 5 I just can't get the balls to pull them off .... yet! There is a thread on making cheap dissconnects wrote by CBoug76. Check it out.

Hope this helps!

Oh one question for you: What is the supper runner kit and whats the advantage???????

33x12.5 on a 15x8in wheel is your best bet
Pete

with the super funner kit you get new radius arms. dont know to much about it. ill go see if i can find out alittle more and let you know. check back later.

thanks to those that posted

Like Pete said, your best bet is to go with 33x12.5 on a 15x8 for minimal or no rub. But you should get some 35s and do whatever triming you need to so you have minimal to no rubbing :D

Be careful with the superlift radius arms. Just make sure to check them out before and after any wheeling. Good luck.

Hey.

I've got 33 X 12.5 Bridgestone M/T's on 15 X 10 ARE Baja's. They rub JUST abit..when i go to full crank on the turns...other than that its fine. I like hte look of the wider rim because it sets the footing wider for the wheels.

I forgot to say i had 33s with minor rubbing with my 4" lift. I now have 35s still with the 4" lift and fiberglass fenders. I don't run either sway bar and it's my daily driver. I have the warn hubs and haven't had any probs yet.

I used to have a superlift 5.5 with 33x1250 thornbirds on 15x8 steel wheels. They rubbed the hell out of my sway bars, so I took them off. I also had the Rancho RS9000's, and I really didn't notice a difference with the sways off and the shocks on the 5 setting. After taking off the sway bars, the tires only rubbed in the inner fenderwell in the rear when the suspension was maxed out. But that is mostly because the thornbirds have those side lugs that add a good 2-3" of width to the tire.
I was not aware that superlift made hubs. I used milemarkers. They are cheaper and can be picked up at your local autozone, and they are basically the same thing as the warns. If you don't feel comfortable making your own sway bar disconnects, Warrior products makes some for the Explorer. warriorproducts.com

hello all. thanks agian to those that posted. to answer a few things. i too like the 15x10 for the wider look and to get some more grip. im going to get the warn hubs when i call tonight. i was always under the impreshion that you could fit 31s on a stock X with little to no rubing. it surprises me that with a 5.5 lift i can only fit 33s:rolleyes: i have always planed on building this thing up. i plan on getting perrys fiberglass front for more clearance in the finder well. this lift is only getting me started. over X-mas i plan on whelling lots. so ill figure plenty of stuff out that i need and want to do. my truck is in hibernation right now so im finaly willing to spend money on the X. if the tires rub ill just:hammer: away untill they dont rub any more. i got to kick some jeeps :mattmoon: so i plan on doing quite a bit more work. it just takes time and money. hopfuly some day my X will compare to Ricks.:exporange . for now im just going to enjoy it untill i go to CO and then im sure that it will be inneed of some more parts. thanks for the help. ill be seeing you alot around here now im sure of it.:D thanks agian. later

Fender guy. id love to get 35s but see i make a few trips back and forth to colorado and Arizona every couple of months. id like to save a little money on gas. but hey thats why im saving the tires on there now. ill just throw them on when i need to drive long distance. will see. 235/75/16's would look really funny with a 5.5 lift.:)

o i plan on it. probly some 4.88s. get this bad boy crawling. hey fenderguy how much was the 98 conversion kit? was it easy to install? give some details im interested already but would just like some input frome someone that has it. thanks again.:chug:

I'm not sure about the '98 conversion kit. I just got the fenders and kept the '92 front end. Mine was very easy to install. just drill the wholes and mount them up. Had to do a little sanding to get them to fit correctly but that is to be expected.

kool!!! wondering what gears you have?

kool. i dont get the whole gear thing yet but im catching on. so if i get 4.88's then i should be lower than the stock ratio right. thus more noticable power increase. not in HP i know but in felt power. right?

Also, if you get 4.88s and go with 33s your top speed will be about 50. I had 33s for a while with the 4.56s before I got my 35s and it was screaming the rpms at 65.

It will definitely crawl good but it will take you twice as long to get wherever you're going. I have had no problems crawling with the 35s, 4.56s and 4 Lo. Good luck, whatever you decide.

Are 4.88's even available for our front ends? I didn't think they went higher than 4.56 but I could be wrong
Pete
