Hello people of the Explorer world. I just got handed down my fathers 1998 Explorer XLT. Its got 150K miles and it running very strong. I have already found this place to be a great resource for finding all the little quarks about the Explorer, what goes wrong, what can be done for cheep, and what not to do. I road race Mustangs so this is my first dip into the SUV world. This will be my daily driver as my current Mustang is not street friendly at all. Thanks for the help so far and here are some pictures of the new Explorer

Looks like that Explorer has been very well taken care of.

Thank you. It's bone stock or as I see it, a blank canvas to start the modding. I said I would keep it stock because its my daily driver but thats just down right impossible:)

It really has. The clear coat on the hood has started to crack a little bit and there is a gash in the right rear quarter panel where my dad jack knifed a trailer. Other than that the interior is really nice and the paint looks great after some TLC.

diller u plan on doing mods to it or leave it stock

I did want to leave it stock but I am installing a new head unit, speakers, and small sub this weekend with a new muffler coming soon. After that it will be just maint. as any extra money goes into this first:

I say that now but there will always be something to change/upgrade on it. Since its not a 4X4 I don't really have any big off road plans. Just something that is capable for camping trips.

Welcome to Explorer Forum! That is one clean Explorer. Happy posting!
