2011 XLT
Hey. Was doing some research online and found this site. I ordered my 2011 Explorer two weeks ago, hopefully will have it by the end of feb early march.

I got a sterling grey XLT with 202a, trailer tow, and the power lift gate.

Awesome man. Show some pics of the beauty when you get it.

G'day and welcome. There'll a few 2011 X's getting around here soon.

welcome aboard

Congrats on your new CAR. It looks like its a good vehicle, just wish they wouldn't have called it an Explorer, since its really a tall car. Built on a lengthened and widened Taurus platform with a tall body.

Congrats on your new Explorer!

Elessar- can we at least be civil enough to not trash someone's choice in their own thread? I mean really...

Congrats on the new ride. Can't wait to see some pics!

I agree with Joe. Some semblance of maturity would be nice right about now!

Its all in good fun, lol. Besides, I said it was a good vehicle. I'd use one as a DD. I just don't think it should be called an Explorer. Its a car based crossover. There is nothing wrong with that at all. Just like the Contour based Jags weren't really Jags, and the Jeep Compass shouldn't really be wearing a Jeep badge.

Great a member with one well soon with one....i really like them and in the future years i would like to have one.

Welcome man

I think that the fact that there are 3 2010 Explorers sitting on the local Ford dealership here, that have been here since early 2010, and the fact that the only 2011 Explorer they got in the first shipment sold in three days speaks for itself. NOONE is buying body-on-frame SUV's anymore. Yes, I drive a 2004 Limited with a V8, but hey that's my choice. I test drove the 2011 Limited they got in yesterday, and for what it is, it's amazing. The features are endless, and it handles better and drinks less gas than my Ex. IMO it was a smart move for Ford to make the 2011 a crossover.

By the way, Congrats on the '11!

Dude, I said it was a good vehicle. My only beef is that I don't think it should be called an Explorer. IMO as soon as they went to IRS they lost the spirit of the original. Pretty soon we'll have to turn to (gasp) Jeep to get a capable off roader from the factory. Unless they bring the Bronco back. But they'll probably F that up, lol

I guess their research on nameplate recognition was the reason they went that route. How would the public react if they just killed the Explorer?
