im thinkin about getting a K&N drop in air filter and i was looking at my stock one and im just not sure what to do with all that stuff. like i realized that there were some wires or plugs in the back off it and what do i do with those if i get the new filter and do i leave the box on or off im so lost here.
please help

i have a drop in k&n barely used under 500 miles that i will be selling probably starting tomorrow. all you do is pop open the air box top u do this by unscrewing two small bolts. take the lid off pull out existing air-filter and drop in k&n. you keep the stock air box its a real real easy install and makes a difference lmk if you interest in my k&n

well first off you have to take off the intake screws too, plus i opened it up and i see the old air filter and its long . so if i go the K&N one where do i put it i didnt see one spot . do i get the round filter or what. IM so lost please help.

CHUT16, you are making an easy job hard. A k@n drop in filter is a direct replacement for a regular filter. Read your owners manual on how to replace the filter and stick the k@n in there instead of a Fram or whatever. Maybe you are getting confused by pictures of complete intake systems that include intake tubes, adapters, and a round filter? These systems start at around $100.00 and are offered by several companies. Your K@N drop in filter has a very precise cleaning regiment. Make sure you read the directions carefully and follow them to the T. It sounds like you started taking apart the wrong end of your aircleaner assembly. Bite the bullet, read your manual. Good luck!
