I have a 1999 Ford Explorer XLT 4 door 2wd. I want to lower it. I am having trouble finding a good COMPLETE kit. It is about time for shocks and what not also. Anyone help me here???

I am also going to be putting my 347 stroker bottom end in it eventually. Who sells a qualify cold air, throttle body, and mass air for these vehicles?

I have a set of two chamber flows in the garage. I am thinking I want to put them on here as well. Anyway to do that without buying/making some sort of custom x or h pipe??

for lowering and suspension check out the X Spec suspension kit at http://www.explorerexpress.com
it lowers your ride height by 1" but retains factory ground clearance

as far as intake, the MAC Cold Air Intake is the CAI of choice for the X and Mounty, a throttle body you can go with Ford Racing, and i'm not too familiar with mass air meters so someone else can suggest one.

As far as exhaust, going 1 muffler (2 in 1 out) is the best option for this vehicle. Preferred setup is removing the secondary cats, running 2.5" pipes to a 2.5" dual inlet muffler and running anywhere from 2.5" up to 3" tailpipe and dumping it out just behind the rear passenger wheel or out the back, depending on your preference.

Torque Monster headers are also a good edition to a 5.0 X or mounty.

Don't forget to get a tune as well.

I moved this to the sport truck section,
Take a look around.
This area of the forum is a bit hidden,

Welcome to the site!!

Here's the rundown

Mac intake
Exhaust
Torque monster headers

I'd get ahold of James at www.hensonperformance.com
and Robert at www.torquemonsterheaders.com

I can supply you with everything you need except the Torquemonster headers. I wouldn't recommend a meter at this moment. After you get into the heads, intake, cam, etc then I would recommend a upgraded meter. If you are going to stay n/a I would recommend a Lightning meter (even with light- moderate boost). If you do go with an aftermarket meter custom tuning is a must. Remote tuning is a possibility, for questions pm or email me. Currently, jtsmith (Jon)is doing the remote tuning deal. Good luck with your mods and welcome back (sort of) to the community! On your first order I will give a discount if you become elite on this forum! -j
