Kennesaw Mountain Accessories has quoted me $650 for a custom offroad bumper loaded with all the good stuff.
1.Spare Tire Carrier
2.Gas Can Carrier
3.CB Mount
4.Hi-Lift Carrier
5.Class III hitch
6.Integrated Air Tank
7.Integrated Reverse Lights

What do you guys think?
Could I get a better deal elsewhere?

just my 2 cents, I ordered one for the front and the back, not quite all the stuff you want, it took a little longer to get it than they said, but it was worth every penny. Heavy duty, good quality welds and excellent workmanship overall!

Did it look weird and out of place on your truck? That's what worries me. It looks tough as hell from the pics though. Also, how did you like the tire carrier it came with?

hrmmmm

yea post the pics of it installed. does it look similar in the same lines as the stock one or is it a straight piece like on a jeep. does it have a step or whatever?

the features it has sound good and the price is cool.

Soupbone, that's what I was afraid of also. I want it to atleast be a little "curvy" looking like the factory bumper.

Jason, you're explorer looks good as is, just give me your money!! Sounds like a pretty cool deal i think, especailly with all that stuff already on there, go for it!

Happy trails!!

yes, bumpers are pretty much straight, except for the ends got a return attached. Sorry no pictures lost my camera a few months ago didn't get around to replacing it yet.I didn't buy them for the looks. I live in the coal regions of Pa. and need them for a funtional use to keep the trees out of the way, and the winch bumper to get out of stripping pits. As for the tire carrier it will hold up to a 35 inch Swamper and swings out of the way to open the rear hatch. Both of them together was 268 lbs. shipping weight. Not much to attach to the frame either, the hardest part was getting the old one off.

Thanks for the info man. I have definitely decided to get a custom rear bumper, but does anyone know of any other manufacturer that makes them for explorers?

what I'd like to know is what you've paid for that se-up...... I might want to get in on it as well.... I was considering Smittybilt but this would be a lot better.......

later,
:bounce:

As stated above, it's around $650 fully equipped. But, the base price with just tire carrier is around $400.

ljancewicz...... I was asking about his set-up...... I might be interested in his set-up.

llllll

For anyone interested.he Multicarrier for your 1994 Explorer is $400. This includes the bumper with "D" rings, mounting
hardware, and tire carrier. Freight to PA is $60. Available options for the Multicarrier include a receiver
hitch $65, jack carrier $25, CB antenna mount $10, gas can carrier $30 each, and the bumper
configured as an air tank $90. There are also several lighting options available for the Multicarrier as
long as the air tank option is not selected. The bumper is available with a set of recessed backup
lights $35. It is also available with a set of recessed turn/stop/marker lights $35 or with LED
turn/stop/marker lights $115.

The Wincher for your Explorer is $260 plus freight. Available options for the Wincher include a grill
guard $65, light guards $45, "D" rings or shackle brackets $40, receiver tube $65, and a turn
signal/marker light set recessed in the bumper $35. The turn signal set can be replaced with LED

Kennesaw Mountain Accessories let me know if this helps any? ( Don't forget to mention you belong to the EXPLORER website and mention RICK maybe if enough of us buy from this place Great deal compared to others) he can be a sponsor

ljancewicz, are you a KMA rep?

If so, is $400 a discounted price?

Kennasaw Mountain Bumper

No sir no kma rep just trying to help out a little to another exploder. What I ordered and received rear bumper W/ D-Rings for towing, Multi-Carrier W/ high- lift jack carrier. Wincher front bumper Grill Guard Light Guard and shackle brackets (10.000 lbs ) If you order both together give yourself 5% discount (let Kyle know he gave it to me ) this will almost take care of the shippin. Do the math I got both just about for the price of the first bumper in this thread. if I remember right somewhere around 800 and change.

thanks a bunch! I had a tire carrier from Kennesaw on my 94 Un-Limited..... now I need some "mean bumpers for my 98 Sport......

shhhh! as long as my wife doesn't hear this <>

who has a picture of one of these on a explorer?

thx

picture

if it works here it is:

that's the Kennesaw Mountain tire carrier with stock bumper....
Dead Link Removed

should work

how did you get it mounted to the stock bumper??? looks good.

well, ruined the bumper since I had to drill four holes but I had no problems otherwise. It handles tires up to 35" - but if you do a lot of wheeling you'd have to reinforce the bumper in some way.....
