First of all, I'm honored to be a member of such an awesome forum! Didn't know dedicated people like yourselves existed!

Anyway, to my problem...
I've read ALL the posts on how to find the "computer module" or any other sticker that lists the factory-set keyless entry code for my 1999 Explorer XLT, and I'm still lost.

Apparently there's a sticker behind the back-left cargo panel (where part of the jack is stowed)... I looked back there, but I couldn't find anyway to see past a white box blocking my way. I checked the entire white box (using the suggested mirror technique) with no success. There IS a white sticker on it, but I believe that was placed there by the original manufacturer of the part and has other information on it.

Thus, my problem. I still can't find the sticker! I would appreciate as detailed instructions as possible, including exactly what kind of "module" I am looking for, or another place to find the code. Thank you so much, and you guys all rock.

Mine was a pain and had to pratically shove my whole head in there. The code might be right against the plastic panel like mine was. I just pryed it away and saw it. If not, you can either have tou Ford dealer read the code off the computer or pull the panel off if you still don't find it.
Careful though, Ford might charge you.

alright...

alright, so i've removed the entire panel, and i still dont see any sign of a number printed inside. making sure I have the correct side, it is the DRIVER'S left, correct? The side with the storage door already built in? Alright, so where do i look exactly?

thanks

I hope this helps you. On my 99 in behind the panel that you remove for access for the jack towards the very front there is a pale yellow box that has a plug going into it that has like 18 wires on it. On the side of the box there is a white sticker that has a bunch of numbers and serial numbers on it. If you were to look at the sticker (you might have to use your hand to pull the cargo area abit to see it) there is a 5 digit number towards the floor (right side of the sticker if you were looking at it normally) that is bigger than the rest (about 3/4 inch big) . That is your 5 digit code you need. Hope this helps. Jim

awesome! I found it, thank you so much for all of your help!
