Knocked Out

Was going to pick the bones of a friend's '99 XLT 4.0 "cammer". He was going to junk it because of the timing chain going south. Hadn't seen it and was surprised at the damage. When the front chain, guide, tensioner, whatever let go, it knocked a large hole in the left side valve/cam cover. After we talked for a while he decided since he's had it 14 years and loves it, that he just may put another engine in it so I left it alone. Besides the parts I was going to take were trivial anyway.

thats wicked. I loved my 4.0 but they are troublesome.

Man, that give me the willies!! I got 195k on my SOHC and this will give me nightmares! I did have Ford do the re-work but still...!! What a shame.
