Lag between pedal, and engine response???

Was unable to get a video today, went to go turn on my camera, and the battery died. So tomorrow. but I did listen real close, I am pretty sure that it is a downshift lag. if this is common, was it common from the factory, and what is a fix, beside pressing buttons, and going wide open.

The 5 speed auto to me seems like it always has had that issue with my xlt and even back when I had that trans in my sport before the swap. I have to pulse the throttle real quick to have it kick down a gear when going up a hill or I start losing speed. lol If I gradually apply throttle to increase my speed again, the engine stays at somewhat low rpms and you can hear the load on it increasing but the speed doesn't change. Eventually it will drop a gear, the gear I needed 10 seconds ago. It really is pathetic. I am sure a valve body kit or electronic tweaking could be done to make it behave better, but it should behave properly from the factory. Where I live is all hills so I deal with it daily. Maybe something is wrong with my explorer. It would be interesting to hear the experiences of others.

Finally got the video this morning. So here it is. Hope I didn't talk over everything.
