I know there have been threads on this before, but none of them mentioned if any of you installed larger TB's.

I read Vanir's opinion on TB's, and was confused. I'm interested in the Edelbrock 66mm TB. Have any of you installed a larger than stock TB? Did it help? Hurt? Any input would be appreciated. My mods are listed in my sig.

Thanks!

From my experience, I read that the TB was going to give me an additional 10-15 hp. You will probably honestly gain a modest 5hp, if you are lucky. You will however, gain a better throttle response for passing - especially at high speeds, nicer sound of the engine, and better fuel economy (at least I did) for the most part.

At first that article seemed to clear things up for me.. but then the more I thought about it, I got really confused. :) However, If you buy one, I would go with the one from Vanir. Its on the cheap! I should be picking one up soon... Also, I have a question. Lets say you buy your new throttle body. If you dont get a larger MAS air... will you see an improvement? Hmmm....

Well, I had already ordered the edelbrock/bbk TB, but it's on back order for an indefinite period of time. I think I'm gonna cancel it and order one from Vanir. If they say 63mm is better, it probably is. As for getting a larger MAS air, I think the stock ones can handle the in-flow until you get a supercharger. I think I read that on a recent thread.

Let me know if you get your TB before me.

Im still attempting to convince my girlfriend that a throttle body is a great gift. :) flowers=bad TB=good. So who knows. Some place on the web sells colored MAS air. Expensive though...
