- 2000 Explorer XLT
I have 2000 Ford Explorer XLT 2WD, 6 cylinder. It has 15" wheels on it. I want to go to a bigger and nicer looking wheel.
What is the largest size whhel he should go to keeping the following in mind:
1) I want him to be able to buy tires that he can get good mileage out (say 30,000+ miles) vs. some low profile tires that only get 15-20,000 miles)
2) I do not want to throw off the speedomoeter very much
3) I want to go to a size where tires are still at good prices
4) I want to go to a size that do not negatively affect the power/speed of the vehicle too much (It is a 6 cylinder)
5) I want to go to a size that does not start to make it alot more unsafe side when making sharp turns
Thanks
