LED replacement lamps

For those of us who can't afford Longo LED Tails, what led strip lighting did you guys use to replace your tail/stop led ceiling fan lights or turn signal bulbs? I purchased some from e-bay, but when I installed them I found they turned on but didn't get brighter when I applied the brake. Contacted the seller who said I needed to buy a resistor. Yeeeaaah, not going to do that since I know other Tundra owners have replaced bulbs with led light without having to install resistors.

So, what and where did you get them?

I think you might be on the wrong forum, but if you want to replace bulbs with LEDs and not use a resistor, you switch to an electronic flasher so you don't have to deal with the hyper flash. LED strips are not what you want to buy, and plug and play LEDs generally suck.
