Looking good. I've been wanting to switch my tail lights to LED but take a different route if I ever get a new job and enough money.

They are tinted with model spray tint that you can get at a hobby store.:salute:

So I took Tims idea and covered it in plastic and tinted over that and I love the way it looked. It will look a ton better when its really tinted.

So now I need to save up and get the supplies I need to really tint them.

Tint tint tint!
Lol looks great so far...what all do you still need to finish them and put em on?

K danny, confession time, lol. What size of led's did you use (both brake and turn signal). Are the brake leds a high low type (for both brake and park light), and if not, how did you get around that. Also, are you putting in leds for your reverse lights?

I agree with you, I need some supplies from the paint store to do this the right way. I also need some black silicone to seal them in. Oh and clear coat for going over the tint.

Wait why?! Like LED bulb size? The brake is a 4" cluster and the turn in a 2" cluster. The brake is wired with a brake power light and a parking power light. The reverse lights no, not yet. I did not want to take the time to do them. To be completely honest this summer I am putting HIDs in them hahahaha

HIDs as reverse bulbs!?!?! Why did I not think of that LOL that's an amazing idea and I think we should both do it somehow, would you be using your stock housing with an HID fitted into it or would you use a seperate housing like another set of stock fogs or something...

Also you'd wanna get a delayed relay, so when you go from park to drive or vice versatile it wont flash them, that's horrible on the ballasts and bulbs, the delayed relay would make it so it takes about a second after being in reverse to ignite them

Never herd of a delay relay thats a cool idea! I will be putting probably a H bulb HID into the tinted housing above. Just gooping it in so it stays. Thats wont be tell this summer.

Lol goop sounds good enough for me, but yea I'm not exactly sure what it's called, but it basically delays the power for a half second or a second, which in this case is perfect for switching gears....dang I just wanna get a pair now and put them in haha

Done and curing. 1-21-10

Here I am just letting them cure. I added smoke tint to them then a clear coat stain. There are very SMALL imperfections but you wont see them unless you are looking for them. When I get them on I will up date this. :salute: Cheers!

danny, try wet sanding them with about 1500 grit paper and polish them. they might come out a lot shinier

Are the red LEDs like "2" tone....as in having them dim for the running lights and bright for the brakes?
