Replace the bulb, even if it looks fine...they don't always look blown. The bulb could just not be getting a good connection, check it for corrosion and make sure it is seated properly. I'd just replace it though, infact replace both bulbs...the one for tail/turn signal and the one for brakes, either could be bad and causing your problems. They come in packs of 2 anyways.

sounds like the bulb... and as prozachappy said, it can be bad without looking bad... have you tested it and actually ruled out the bulb? the reason i ask is the car flashes the signal fast, thats setup like that to indicate the bulb isnt completeing the circuit...

bulbs are ok. ...where are the grounds for that circuit located?? ...i dont yet have a repair manual. thanks for the replies guys.

I think that you have a bad ground. In the Left rear lamp set is are light green/orange wire which is the power. Black wire is the common ground. Trace the black wire toa point where you can tap into it and run a wire to a solid ground that is unpainted. Retest your turn signal. If it works, you've found your problem so all that is necessary to make the fix permanent is to make the ground attachment permanent so that it will not vibrate loose or corrode. One possible method would be to splice into the black wire from the working right side lamps.

ok i am having the same problem but on the right side, so how do i take apart the actual lamp?

Fixed my issue

I had the same problem, it turned out to be a loose wire. The wire didn't have enough slack that when I tilted the wheel it pulled out of the connection. I just pulled some more slack and put a piece of plastic back in and secured it.

check your brake failure switch on the brake pedal under the dash and make sure it is properly seated.my brake's lights were not working and that was the problem.
