your stock front suspension is an independant a arm system.

Go with the nitrogen Pro Comp 9000's they are only a few bucks more

is your truck 4wd?

Since we are talking shocks I was thinking of getting some Rancho's RS5000 for my X. What difference are these compared to the Pro Comps 9000s? I have AWD and TT. Any other brands to look at?

nah it 2wd, and that says it doesn't come w/ boots...dont you have to have boots?

no. dust boots are garbage. there are wipers on the shock to keep crap out, and if those don't work, your shocks are garbage too. those are for trophy trucks, so that rocks don't shatter a shaft at 120 miles an hour. are you gonna lift your truck? if so, i would just deal with crappy ride quality for now and save my pennies for good shocks when you do the lift. my shocks cost about 700 each to assemble.....

no i see no reason to do a lift on a 2wd, ill stick to the stock ride height (although i am going to do add-a-leafs b/c my rear sags so much). so procomp is the winner it looks like?

did you say no reason to lift a 2wd? that's a soft spot for me. my truck is currently being converted from 4wd to 2 wheel drive. here's why!!!

trust me, if the back wheels spin fast enough, and you have enough travel, you could have skis on the front.......

but yeah, i would go with the procomp's. sometimes they have a sale and sell em either buy 3 get one free, or buy all four and get a steering stabilizer.

oh hey happy! did that cromoly engine cage cost you about ten grand or what?

ok yeah if you're making your truck a toy thats different (thats a bad ass pic by the way) but mine is daily driver... whats the best place to get procomps? best price ive found online is about 36 each

would you get new shocks like those pro comp ones if u did like AAL and shackles and TT and such. BTW, I have a 2002 Explorer Sport 4wd
