Leveling shackles

I know this subject has been posted up everywhere but I need some info that I didn't being asked... I am running a 99 explorer 5.0l and I am going to make homemade shackles to level the rear end of the truck but I have aftermarket trailor hitch installed and was not sure if I could even use a set without hitting the hitch ???? I was wondering if anyone has ever ran into this problem ?????
