Hi I have a 2001 Explore Sport 4x4 and I want to lift it. I know there’s a lift kit out there for around 2 grand but my X is only my winter beater :D so that’s a little steep. I was wondering how much of a lift can I get with playing with the torsion bars and putting in rear shackles and/ or an axial flip? Thanks for your time.

A Torsion Twist will get you 2" max, you don't want to go more than that, or you'll be stressing your CV's too much. Rear shackles will get you 1.5-2" as well, or you can get an Add-A-Leaf for a bit more (~1"). A Spring Over Axle, which is what I think you meant by axial flip, that will get you 5-6", but then your rear end will be way taller than the front, and it'll probably look really goofy.

Your best bet for the budget lift is TT and Shackles, it's cheap, and easy to do.

Thanks a lot!!:)

Not a problem, just post some pictures of your finished product. I really like the 3rd Gen sports.

Were is a good place to get lifted shackles and what "Size" should i get. I believe my leaf spring are 2.5in wide but i may be wrong so if someone know that would be wonderful too. Thanks

How high is that lift on the rear?

It's about 2" depending on your truck. It matches a torsion twist pretty well. If you look around this site there are a bunch of people using various shackels (some home-made).

Thanks for all the help! I was looking at the WAR-153 before but the 1.25 lift was throwing me off. Did you pay around $50 for yours? I'm also getting new shocks and I was looking at the Hydro 7000 Series Skyjacker Shocks. Has anyone herd anything about them, good bad other? Thanks
