I see alot 4wd lifts for cheap but mines is a 2001 2wd. besides a TT twist and shackles, what lift kit options can i buy thats shock and coil without breaking the bank. I really dont like air suspensions so not an option thank you.

If you've got 2wd the TT and shackles can give you quite a bit of lift. The 4WD are limited by their cv joints but 2wd don't have to worry about it.

I cant find any with more than 2 inch shackles looking for 3"3.5" if i take that route

Maybe easy if you own a shop or have buddys that will work for beer idk looks a bit intimidating.
 






Add a leaf, Warrior 153 shackles, and Monroe 58617 Sensa-Trac Load Adjusting Shock for the rear. TT and/or lift spindles for the front.
 












Since you are 2wd, you can crank the t-bars to the max, but that'll make the ride quality awful (you'd have no down travel going over bumps). Lift spindles are somewhat pricey, but at least you can maintain your ride comfort and just tt enough to level the front and rear.
 


















What shocks are cheap and long lol and sh** those spindles are a bit pricey so there for rangers but fit fine im guessing?

I would still call to make sure they will fit for 2WD though. Or search around the forums to see if anyone is running these with 2WD.

As for that Bronco lift kit, I don't think it would work without a lot of modifications.

I'm not sure what you are trying to look up since multiple options come up on a google search for "5" Ford Suspension Lift Kit - 2WD". It seems like most of those kits are for coil front suspension, not torsion bar suspension. For coils, you can add a spacer or get a longer coil to add ride height. Can't do that with t-bar suspension. If you want coils, you need to chop off the existing t-bar suspension components, fabricate, fit, and weld coil over mounts. Then get all of the actual suspension parts (coil over shocks, limiting straps, extended brake lines, etc...).

The 5" lift (if that is the height you are going for) in the link above will be your least expensive and easiest method. It will still take some work, especially for the rear SOA conversion, but not nearly as much as converting the front to coil overs as well as SOA in the rear.

What size tires are you trying to fit with the lift you want? I assume you mainly want this lift for aesthetics since you are 2WD, and likely not building a desert prerunner. I only ask because after a certain size with stock gears, you explorer will feel like it is loaded up dump truck. So a huge lift plus huge tires will also require you to regear, unless you are fine moving at the speed of smell after stop lights.
 






Im really just going for the easy way (p.s. i know theres never a easy way) , and saw that 2wd kit for cheap but would i be okay with tt twist at full capability the monroe shocks and picking either shackles or add a leaf but not both i want like 2-3 inchs i bought all new 31s and they fit great with no mods. I dont want a super lift with small 31s and have to go out and buy 33s so the truck doesnt look lifted with small tires. Whats better add a leaf or shackles? Ive heard shackles will bend your current leafs and bring you back where you started.thanks for your patiance glacier.jay
 






The shocks are all around pretty good, especially for the price. I constantly have cargo back there and also towed with them, and they were firm, but not stiff. They also keep the back end from sagging too much. Plus, if you need new shocks anyway, you might as well replace them with these.

Shackles will not have an impact on the ride quality. They just drop the back spring mount to provide the lift. Shackles will not bend your spring to return them to the stock height. The spring will have less arc to it than with the stock shackles, but it will still be lifted a few inches.

The add-a-leaf kit is usually cheaper, and those extra leaf springs will make your ride more stiff than stock. They also require a little more work to install, but nothing too intense. You'll need to add a spring to the leaf pack, where a shackle lift is literally taking out 4 bolts and putting the new ones in.

I'd recommend doing the shocks plus shackles first. Then do a TT enough to level out the front and rear. You might have to get some camber bolts for the upper control arms to get your wheels aligned again after the TT though. If you still have running boards, take those off. Those things take up a few inches of clearance on the bottom. If you still want more lift later on, you can always do the add-a-leaf and crank the t-bars more.

EDIT 2: You can also replace your 2-door Sport springs in the rear with some 4-door springs to get some lift. The 4-door springs are designed to hold up the extra weight of the 4-door vs 2-door, so it will bring you up a bit. You can probably find a ton of 4-door springs in decent shape if you have junk yards close to you.
