Yay! It is nice out finally. Let the projects commence! Firstly, I bought a skidplate from RCI and am just waiting for its arrival.
I am going to throw on some Trail Gear 78" rock sliders in June, the guys at my favorite shop are giving me a deal
and will get them Line-X'd and welded up for $150 bucks total, I just have to buy them

I just bought Raybestos pro grade upper control arms, tie rod (inner and outer), and lower ball joints today,
so hopefully in the first couple weeks of April I'll have the weather and time to install all that.
I wanted to get that done before I switched to larger tires, and just because I felt like being handy.

Oh and last weekend I finally got around to doing something about the holes in the toeboard since the tupperware isn't going back on.
Thank you OffTrac for the inspiration on that, it worked like a charm. No more talky, more pictures

Gorilla tape over the holes and then plastidip over that, plus glossifier to help it match.
If you didnt know it was done you wouldn't be able to see it. Which is the idea.

Thanks Daniel. I'm still going through physical therapy, just got a letter from my job saying I'm terminated for not returning to regular work duty even though I'm still on restricted duty status from the doctors (my work doesn't offer anything I can do under those restrictions). No income or medical insurance now so the truck isn't getting done or worked on anytime soon. I just want to get better and find another job now and move on from this whole nightmare. Trying to figure out how to pay bills and rent when I'm limited on what jobs I can actually apply for now that aren't going to pay anywhere near what I was making driving truck. Just another obstacle in life to get over. Your trucks looking really nice man, can't wait to see the sliders and skid plate on it.

I've got to get my skid plate remounted. Came out from work one day a couple months ago and two bolts were missing on one side, letting it hang down. It wasn't like that when I went into work. Bolts weren't on the ground.

I've had those Trail Gear sliders in my Amazon wish list for a while now. Looking forward to seeing how they go for you. They're moving on up the list after my next round of updates coming soon. Stay tuned.

My tape and plastidip fix has held up so far. The holes no longer bother me because of that but the difference in depths of the sheet metal at that corner still do. Still trying to figure that one out.

Dang man. That's not cool. I'm sorry to hear that. Knowing you, you'll come out on top though, and if there is something I can do to help you out ask away. If I lived closer I'd say I'd help you with your trac if you taught me to weld haha. Would be a fair trade.

The one thing I'll need to decide on is if the sliders are gonna sit too close to the tires. 78" might be just a bit too long. I'm going to cut a 2x this weekend and throw it up to see how close it is. I'm concerned under extreme flex it might rub.

I think in April I'll go GreenMountaineer's route and fill the cavity with touch foam and Herculine the rocker boards. Haven't decided if that'll extend to the very back where it dips in. That irritates me. Why they couldn't have just made it a bit more truck like lol.

78" sliders should work out fine. That's the length Chad built his to. Here's his build thread for some references.

I went up higher onto the door partly because it was a good line to follow, and also because I thought it looked better with some more height to that line.

That's exactly how I wanted mine, extended on that back part and up the curve. I wasn't thinking of going up the lip on the doors thou but after seeing your photo it probably looks better than just on the rocker. How did you cover the holes? I was thinking the metal tape. Did you brush or spray?

Dang man that looks great. I like the bottom of the door as well now that I see it. Did you herculine the sill of the rocker inside too? So if you open the door how far up did you go?

I sanded the crap out of everything I was going to paint and then wiped everything down with the thinner they recommended in the instructions, forget the name of it at the moment. Then I covered the holes with little squares of the metal tape. I brushed most everything except for the bigger areas of the bumpers which I rolled on. I found it was easier to use the brush and I got a thicker coat on which helped cover up the tape and some of the fiberglass repair work I had to do.

I'll take some pictures of the back corners after work today.

It seems I'll have a lot more prep doing mine then you had, I have rust holes throughout and I haven't even started to scrap/wire brush anything to see what's still solid.

That's a good question on how far up the rockers you went into the sill. The way you did yours looks 10x better than the cladding being on.

Thanks man. They're Hannamen's and I'm about 99% sure they're 4" fenders. It's 4wd, I waited forever for the whole 930 CV issue to get worked out. So far, they seem to work pretty good. The rear end is a National pack, but on stock shocks. I'm going to be ordered 2.0 x 10's for the rear in the next week and I need to revalve the front shocks, along with a laundry list of other things. I have the bedsides ready to go, just need to set aside the time to do it.

You'll be able to fit 33's with that setup easily. I had shackles instead of ad a leafs but same lift pretty much. my front suspension in this picture is worn out and sitting stock height.

Yeah, the bottom of the front passenger fender was almost rusted all the way through. There was only a small piece connecting the fender to the mounting holes. That was the toughest part of the fiberglass repair because I had to leave everything attached to make sure we got the shape as correct as possible. We ended up using some marine fiberglass that should be stronger. Once that dried up, I took the fender off and layered some more fiberglass on this inside. It's probably stronger than when it came out of the factory.

I had some rust holes in the back corners too, but they were about the size of a sleeve of golf balls.

That's the back corners. I tried to go up and kinda match the lines that the cladding had. Again, I thought it looked better going up high like that than just doing a straight line across. Seemed to match the front better this way and keeps things uniform in a sense.
