Photos Lifted Sport Tracs Picture Thread!

Has anyone used the lift leafs over the warrior shackles? I do put tools n my truck and tow quads so if I gonna lift it I'd like to get some extra payload. I kno lift depends on the shape of your existing leafs but should be near what the shackles do right?

Offtrac has them and I'll be swapping to lift springs soon as well.

I had shackles for a couple years and traded them for add-a-leafs a couple months ago. I got about the same amount of lift. I wish I had done AALs instead of shackles to begin with.

I know I've asked this before but n a different way so I'm gonna order lift leafs an I need to replace shocks so probably gonna order the deal on EBay that sells the leafs, shocks and lift keys only because probably can't find leafs and shocks for under $300. So #1 When you twist your torsions you lose suspension travel but do lift keys restore suspension travel or do they do exact thing twisting your stock keys do? The add says keeps stock suspension geometry but I kno you can't believe everything you read rather ask people that seem to know what their talkin about.

I think you're right Lono. Thats why everyone says don't spend your money on longer ones since they won't get you anything extra. Unless your stock ones are already maxed out.

They do the exact same thing. New lift keys actually replace the keys that are in there and allow you to adjust the suspension height by adjusting the bolt. Since the stock keys are adjustable, you're replacing one adjustable key with another. I trust Ford's manufacturing ability better than the aftermarket companies offering lift keys. Stick with the stock keys. The bolts are really just the manner of adjusting and offer no greater adjustments than the key allows anyway. If the bolts are maxed out, longer bolts allow you to use "more of the key."

I hope that makes some sort of sense.

Offtrac, when I looked up the Pro Comp 13120 add-a-leaf set, the site said it wouldn't fit in a 2001 sportrac. I guess it does cause you did it. lol, Anything special you need to do. Also, are you still happy with the torsion twist, any problems. So much contraversy. Well, my PA Lift and my daystar bushings arrived today, looking to tackle it soon. Does anybody know what parts or part number I would need if I decide to get new sleeves or any other parts I may need, looking pretty rusty under there. Thanks.

The 13120 definitely fits.

I'd say I'm satisfied with the torsion twist; happy with it isn't the description I'd use. I'd prefer not to have done it but it did make it much easier to fit 35s. If you don't need to do it, I'd say don't. That said, I've had no problems so far and I like the way it rides more than stock.

Nice Sport Trac. What's the plans?

Edit: Oh yeah, went back and read the initial post. That's going to look good. What about tires?

Great, thanks for the tip. I've looked at a lot of tires. Dick cepek, mickey thompsons, and duratraks so far. But leaning towards toyo open country mt's, supposed to be good on street aswell and quite. Not sure about rims yet. The size will be the the standard 33 by 12.5, oh except for the few who have 35's, which would be nice!

Looks like an awesome time! How'd you like the dune grapplers? And is that the Ocracoke ferry by chance?

Dang, I need to hurry up with my trac and go on a road trip! Tired of seeing all these beautiful pics and looking outside at corn and bean fields... and windmills, lots of windmills.
