I ended up getting a few good pics tonight for Jim showing the difference between the normal lens, and the wide angle lens. I highly suggest the wide angle when getting these lights.
After talking to Scott at Sema I found out that Central4x4 now carries these and has them in stock. He also showed off their new 9.5" H.I.D's. Get a set of these for the low low price of only $1200. I'm accepting donations for them now.
Matt,
Got to talking to a guy who run's Hella's here in town, and he made a suggestion to test the lens itself for strength. Use a Hi-Lift Hope you get them soon. Can't wait to see the results. The result of this test was a small scratch on the lens itself, and a shock to me. I noticed a larger scratch on the housing itself. Doubt if it went all the way through though. Going to put some superglue on it to keep water out, just in case.

now that's just insane. i'm sold. just a set of the huge ones on my roof rack will do fine i think no low branches will worry me after seeing those pics
the one thing I learned at sema about them is not to tighten the bolts holding the light to the mount down all the way. Tighten them so the light doesn't move up and down, but allow them to move with some preasure. They found the weak point of the entire system is that one point. Pre-Runners were doing nose dives with them and cracking the mount but not the lens or the housing. Once they lossened the bolts some they still did the nosedives but the light got to move some. If ya put them against the rack, I'd suggest doing the same. Just allow them to move if preasure was put onto it, but not while normal driving.
cant wait to see how these things compare. im ready to upgrade from my wal-mart driving lights. now with Christmas comin up (me unwrapping a brushgaurd) ill have a place to mount some big@ss lights. just out of curiosity, these lightforce lights say they use a xenonplast (or somethin like that) 100watt bulb that performs like a 130watt, is there a 130 watt xenonplast bulb that i cna put into these things?
Here are some pictures of the RMDL240's mounted on my F-150. I beat them with a hammer, tried lots of thigns to bust em, theres just no busting em. Only problem is I don't have them hooked up quite properly yet so they aren't putting out full light, can't wait to do so though. I've got the black covers, the clear ones mounted on there right now
The bad news is that my brother flipped the switch to turn on the lights with the black covers on the other day. Melted the covers onto the lens. Ordering a new set of lens(if the sell them like that) this week, or an entire new set of lights soon.
