ok, when i start my X and turn my lights on they Dim slightly. When i put it into gear my lights Dim slightly more. I just spent $ 300 on all the electrical to be looked at and a i had a new alternator put in. I have upgraded fog lights, Hella lights, And a 800 watt system which are all disconnected and my headlights still dim. I would GREATLY appriciat anyones input on this subject. Thanks:)

Have you checked the charging system with a voltmeter?

Do any other lights dim?

Yes i had that checked. All of the lights in the truck dim hed lights, tail light, interior lights.

Take a voltage reading at the 12v comnnector to one of the headlights.

i checked that also and it was fine. This is really bothering me that i cant figure out this problem. OH yeah also i noticed that the lights seem to dim with the idal sound of the engine.

I had a similar situation. I noticed my voltmeter would move around erratically with no load, had it looked at and it turned out the tensioner pulley was bad. Give it a shot.

Might want to have a load test done on the battery...If you just had your alternator replaced, and all your wiring is good, the battery might be bad...

Oh and FC2ED you might want to limit your signature to 6 lines or less...

Hey Ryan, when u put your subs in did your lights dim at all with your cap in also. cause i had my system in for a while before i got my cap. and my lights and battery guag were all messed up?

When I first put my system in, I didnt have a cap, just a 130amp alternator. The lights would dim while going down the road listening at a loud volume. Now with the cap, the lights dont dim at all when driving down the road, but when idleing, my dash lights will dim a little when the bass hits hard. I havnt noticed my headlights dim at all. When I get my second amp for my mids/highs, I will either upgrade to a 200 A altenator, or get a second cap.
