I need new shocks and I was doing some surfing and found these:

Dead Link Removed

Would these maybe help a little with sagging rear end on my Ex? The sag is not that bad, but just noticable.
I also tow a boat in the summer, so I think maybe if I am replacing my rear shocks anyway, this may help some of the sag too. What do you guys think? Anybody used these?

Will they make the ride too rough?

Thanks guys.

Sorry, I guess this should have gone under Shocks/Suspension.

Anybody have any opinions on these?

Personally if I was in your situation I'd get some Monroe Max-Air shocks with the in-cabin controller. Then you can just adjust them to how you want. Air them up, lifts the body and you can haul more things without the rearend sag. Plus you can do it all without having to get out adn adjust anything, its all at your fingertips. They're a bit pricey, but I think they would be worth it. Of course this is just my opinion, so dont just go out and buy these particular shocks, might want a second opinion ;)

BTW, you could always consider an add-a-leaf.

Load levelers

I just put a set of air shocks (Gabriels, I think) on my 91 Bronco along with a set of spring levelers. The shocks lift up the back end and the spring things (they clamp onto the leaf springs) keep it from sagging when pulling my trailer. The shocks were $79 for the pair, don't remember what the spring levelers were, maybe $60 for the pair, maybe less than that. I like them so much I am thinking of doing the same with my 92 Explorer.

mac66,

Thanks for the info. I am just wondering if this sort of thing would do the same thing. Your $80+60=$140US which equals about $250CDN. I just thought these would probably be a cheaper solution than the whole air system. But, as usual, maybe the cheap solution will not do the job properly. I just hoped someone else had tried these and had good results.

I put the Gabriel air shocks in my sport, because I do a lot of towing and my rear would sag. They work great and it was the best $50 I ever spent on the sport. I had to order them from my local autozone. I mounted the valve on my rear bumper pointing down which is easy to access when I need to put more air in them for heavy towing.
