I was getting into the X after school today and I went to lock the doors via the switch, but it didn't work! Has anyone ever had this happen before? The unlock works, and when I press the lock button on the passenger side, they all lock. Glad I have a keyless to lock them :D

One more question relating to this. On the keypad, is there a way to lock the doors? When I enter the 6 digit code, it unlocks them, but I know you can lock them too. What do you do? Thanks guys!

Press the last two buttons. I think they are 7 and 9.
You could have a bad switch but would have to test to make sure.

My driver's side switch is broken too. Well, half-way broken. It'll lock, but it won't un-lock. I've heard of people dissassembling the switch and cleaning it with rubbing alcohol. You could try that first, maybe it's just extremely dirty.

Do you have to take door panel apart to take off the switch or can I just pop it out? I've never taken apart a door panel before, so I may just want to have my mechanic do it, but if it is easy I may as well save a few bucks ;)

You have to take off the panel. There is a thread on taking it off in the "Useful Thread" forum. The switch panel pops on, but not off.

Thanks Morissey i'll get onto that asap. Since I don't feel like starting a new thread and spamming the board... what does a bad wheel bearing sound like? I'm getting a strange noise coming from the front-end while driving every once in a while and it sounds like a grinding noise, and i'm pretty sure it is not brake-related. I have a feeling it's in the suspension somewhere, but maybe somebody could narrow it down more.

i had the same problem as you majesto. when i replaced the switch for the power locks, it did nothing. the unlock worked but the lock still didn't... hopefully it's just the switch!
