Wish I could post but I haven't gotten to my next oil change. I did use fram, but I decided not too after reading some opinions on them. I have a purolator on now, when it gets taken off i'm going to be cutting the fram and it open to post comparsion pics.....all that said....i have nothing yet but i'm interested too!

Whatever you do, don't buy FRAM! What they say about it is true. I found that out this weekend for myself after using FRAM for more than 10 years. My engine usually taps/knocks on start up until I drive it away. I switched and the very next morning the sound disappeared. I used Motorcraft FL1A instead btw.

much help jim!!

i'll be going with mobile 1 full synthethic....

i want maximum flow out of a filter without giving up the "Filtering"

Looks like Mobile 1 is the filter for me...but at a steep price, not sure i want to fork over that $12

however on the lower end Motorcraft fl-1a and puralator filters would work just fine as well.

Not listed but on the page i put on my inital post the bosch 3500 filter looks like a very soild filter...and for $6 at autozone it looks like this maybe the route i take unless someone tells me different

I've been very pleased with the results I've had with the Full Syn Mobil 1. I've always used Wix filters, and they're not on that list(Dead Link Removed). After reading that though, I want to switch to the Mobil filter as well, and here I though that Puralator was just a cheapo brand, kinda like Fram. Guess you learn something new everyday....

i cant persoanlly stand up or support the claims on that writeup, but it was an interesting read.... i found it of the yotatech.com site i belong too, and if you look in the title, it seems that it is actually from an rx7 site.... and hte filters used for the test were for a 5.0l ford 302 ci

wow after reading on bobistheoilguy.com i won't be using the bosch filter
apperently it doen't have a bipass valve.....hmmm

I've opened dozens of filters and my opinion is it just doesn't matter. Filters catch very little except big pieces of old gasket. Other things they do catch get washed off when the filter goes into bypass when you start the engine. Yes, it does go into bypass when you start the engine and the oil is cool (note I didn't say cold). And where is the bypass valve? Duh, on the bottom. That is why Motorcraft put it on the top. Not to pick up the dregs. I prefer flow rate to filtering. My vote is wally world (Champion) filters in the summer and Motorcraft in the winter. Fram is now the same as everyone else. My favorite filter design is the Fram XG-5.

Wow that was an interesting read. I'm kinda glad I went to purolators.
