looking for a locker

i got a 95 2.3 ranger and im looking into buying a locker for it,
i looked on a couple of sites and i could only find lockers for 4x4 rangers(mine is a 2wd) also i want to be able to drive it on the road and get some extra traction during winter.

being 4x4 or 2wd dont make a difference. it has to do with what rear end is in the truck.
well seeing you have a 2wd chances are that u have a 7.5 rear. best bet is to check ford racing for a new 7.5 traction loc 28 spline. it would be pretty much a drop in other then having the bearings pressed on the unit.
if you are looking to go the used route then look for later model aerostars with 4wd. some of them had a 7.5 with a traction loc. also some 79-86 mustangs had 7.5 an a 28 spline traction loc.
if by some slim chance you have a 8.8 rear behind that 2.3 (they are out there) you can find a mustang 8.8 28 spline an drop that in there.

how would i know what rear end i have on my truck
and how hurd is it to install

look at the rear cover a 7.5 will kinda have a oval cover. a 8.8 will look square with rounded corners on the cover.
