Looking to repaint bumper trim

Im looking to repaint my faded bumper trim. How do I remove the plastic trim from both front and rear bumpers?

What year is your Explorer?

There should just be 4 nuts holding it on the front on. If you have fog lamps disconnect the sensor.
The back should also have 4 nuts, however they are on the right and left side(2 each to =4) You may have spacers on the rear as well.

96, but the rear is from a 98.

How are the tabs removed? Tried a rubber mallet and prying neither worked.

Upper front bumper trim piece: unclip both ends by the wheel well and gently pull off. It takes a bit of force.

Rear upper trim: simply pull straight up.
