loping and high idle

My 94 ranger has started idling to high loping and idling to low to almost wants to die.2.3 manual 2wd.replaced wires regapped plugs new pcv valve. Now what do i check?

Can you smell if your engine is running rich? I would make sure your fuel pressure regulator is working.

With the high idle I would think it would be a vacuum leak. I would check all vacuum lines and intake tube for cracks or tears.

+1 vacuum leak. start checking hoses and gaskets

I like the idea of checking for vacuum leaks too, but my own recent experience with these symptoms ended up resolved once I replaced the dpfe sensor. I was getting a code that pointed the way.
