Seems to be i get a loud clunk pop noise when im in 4x4 turning tight left or right doesnt matter. is it the u-joints u think? are those just as easy to replace as the drive shaft? the auto hubs are one i have warn manual hubs now and it is a 91 EB 4dr . 5spd. any tips? is there a grease fitting in there maybe?

There areno grease fittings on those u-joints in the front end.

I doubt the noise you're hearing is fromworn out u-joints. Tight turning while with the front hubs locked will cause the u-joints to bind up . . . they can't handle that tight of a turn and be expected to rotate smoothly. You just can't turn that tight while they are locked in.

If your u-joints were bad, they would most likely be sticking which would cause the steering wheel to jerk back and forth when you try to turn a corner with the hubs locked it.
