Hey guys,

Just had a quick question. This morning is was pulling out of my driveway and I had to move ahead into a snow bank to back out and I kinda got stuck. I put it in 4 wheel, got out and started driving. Now when I drive the truck is making this very loud noise ( sounds like when a tire is lose and its wobbling). I got to work. Tested it in 4 low, and it got much louder. It took me 4 attempts to get the truck out of 4 low and back to regular gear. I drove it around the parking lot and the noise it still there.

Anyone have any idea's on what this could be? Thanks alot.

Can you describe the noise its making? To get it out of 4LO the transmission needs to be in neutral..

The noise sounds like thread against pavement but there isnt any pavement, its all snow. My buddy has a Jeep with huge tires on it, when I'm in it and driving down the express way in the summer time, you can hear the thread of the tire. Kinda sounds like that but much louder.

Sorry, I'm trying to explain it the best I can by typing it

If I busted a U joint what further damage could I cause by still driving it?

Bad hubs perhaps?? I know when my hubs went out on me (damn auto hubs:mad: ) they made a very similar noise of what you are describing and I couldn't get out of 4hi....

Hubs could be a possiblity, what do you guys think about a broken tie rod

I also heard that it could be the half shaft
