Over this past weekend I replaced my lower ball joints and also the upper control arms on my 99 EB Explorer. It was not a pleasant experience, but needless to say, it is complete. I then took it to Belle Tire to slap some new tires on there. I ended up with some Prospector SUV tires. So far, so good.
As Belle Tire was doing the alignment, they mentioned the right lower ball joint was a bit loose. I installed the Moog ball joints, which the right one went in pretty easy (wasn't as snug as I thought it would be). I had to pound it in once or twice, but other than that, it went in without a hassle. They told me as long as I am not off-roading (which I do not plan on doing), it should be fine. How much truth is there to this? If not, how do I go about fixing the minimal vertical movement of the ball joint?
