lower body moldings

thinking about removing the moldings around the truck i know the base models dont have them so i was hoping ford being cheap as they are just double side taped them on the other models.

Nope they have clips...if you remove them you would see the holes in the body

damn, might have to pull them off and paint them then
 






I painted mine with krylon fusion flat black paint...the paint was especially for plastic...came out pretty good

did they come out looking like they were really painted though, i dont want them to look like they were half assed
 






I just bought a used bumper cover for my XLT that had the textured bottom fascia. My explorer has the painted lower trim so I took some 220g sand paper to knock it down a bit, sprayed it with primer, sanded again with 600g, then painted and it looks good as new. You cant tell it was textured.

Took some time but thought I'd share.
