I have my '99 sport lowered, have had it that way for about 9 months how. I have not had any problem at all. I beleive we have the same suspension set up. Mine may be a little stiffer up front, and I may have beefier sway bars, but they are basicly the same. I cant see hwy it would hurt the 4x4 at all. I have not had any problems. I used the 4x4 in the winter with it lowered, no problem at all.

how much did you lower it ....

how much did you spend on your wheels and tires ....

Jornum1, did you had to get a another alignment after you put on your new wheels and tires?

alignments

Hey guys, sorry to jump in here, but just wanted to add some thoughts. You should have an alignment done anytime you replace your tires/wheels. Also, if you custom-lower an explorer, I've seen and heard of camber problems on the front end...looks like the front wheels are angle! But if you just go 1 3/4" you should be ok! I'd like to see some pics if ya do it!

I have done the 1 3/4 with sportier street wheels and tires. Look for my post in the before and after. And you are right, you could technicly go lower, but it would mess up your camber too much. With the lowering kit from explorer express you get camber correcters
