LSD problems?

So far I have put on the K&N cai kit, goerlich xlerator dual in single out 2.5 in custom exhaust, full syn fluids throughout and tightened the accelerator cable. When I stomp on it i can break the tires loose very easily. Obviously a chirp or the beginning of a burnout depending on if I keep it up. 4x4 works great still.

My question is, I know that it takes a lot of hp to break loose the wheels on a limited slip so is my rear diff having problems?

If you're breaking both rear wheels loose, then it's working normally. If only one wheel is spinning, it's probably worn out.

how is it possible that I can break both loose when my tires are in good condition?? I've always heard it takes about 2 times the hp to break both loose with lsd vs having an open diff.

Type of tire, rear axle ratio, condition of the pavement, etc. all contribute to the ability to break traction.

A 4.0 sohc motor should be able to break traction with both wheels with stock style tires and gear ratio's. It doesn't take a tremendous amount of power to do it. I could spin both the rear wheels in my 57 hp Samurai with a locked rear axle in 1st gear because of my gear ratios.
