Have a few questions my pops and I 94 explorer likes to lerch back while in gear in our driveway. The engine brake doesn't work worth of beans and it will only do it if in 2nd or 1st on really windy day. If I put in reverse no problems. It drives just fine.

Slipping clutch?

Wyoming is windy cause it's sandwiched between a state that sucks and another that blows. I'm wondering if the motor has a weak cylinder or two. Might be worth doing a leak down test.

Very well, could be. i don't know exactly how many miles this thing has on it. As the instrument cluster was switched out for a 6 digit one. The changed out one has about 194 k on it. Did get a tune up before we got it.
