yep i have been looking around but couldnt seem to find any info that i was looking for. Thank you very much for your smart @$$ response. it was great help. just looking for some help. so once again thanks.

So does anyone else have any information that you could give me? Once again, helpful help is accepted. What could I get for my car to boost performance. I was looking at stuff like maf or throttle body. what can i do? Thanks for your help.

yea i have been looking at headers but they seem like they would be difficult to put in. but i am not sure. how much horse power do they add? Thanks for the help.

oh, and does anyone know how much more horse power you get from a bigger maf? and how much better gas mileage. Thanks again for all of your help.

what motor do you have ?

I have the larger TB and MAS with a PRO-M meter, on my 4.0 SOHC the two together provided less than stellar results considering the significant investment.

BTW dont call people names. Just ignore the post.
Thanks.

mine is a V8 5.0L engine.

and i didnt call names. i called the response a name. :D but yea i am sorry about that. Sort of makes me upset when i ask a question and people respond with "search."

But anyway. Thanks for all of your help.

Willy the reason I responded that way is because the question is asked 10 times a day, plus you said you searched with little result.

When I used the search feature I came up with:

http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=136883&highlight=maf

Says just how much of an improvement was seen with a C&L Maf.

Here's a list of what one guy did to get his 4.0 SOHC seeing very good gas milage and power, gives an idea of what to expect:

Aldive is ridiculously thorough and has listed everything he did to his truck to get it just over 200hp I believe. Not to mention 30+ mpgs.

There are a number of intakes, there are throttle bodies, headers, exhausts premade and custom, mufflers, gears, tuning, spark plugs and wires, all kinds of stuff you can do that has been covered already on the site.

alright. I just get frusterated with the search on this site. i search stuff and nothing seems to come up. But thanks for your help.

ok well i have been reading all of this and doing my own research but seem to be a little confused. When i buy maf, all i need to do is install it? just that simple? I have read that these are for trucks with tuners. What does this mean? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

i don't blame him, you make 100 new threads a day.

Honestly-
Torquemonster headers are the best mod-
here's why.
The stock exhaust manifolds are very restrictive.
Also-every mod in the future will work WITH the headers for even greater performance improvements.

Your exhaust is already overloaded with the size of your present Maf and throttle body.

If you go with a C & L, you will retain your stock electronics. Just install and go.

Good luck ....

thanks for you help. I already have an aftermarket exhaust. i have dual glasspacks. but the headers seem so hard to put on. i am not sure if i am ready to take on a project that big yet.

ok so i just plug and go with the maf? wow. well i guess that seems to be too easy. things seem to usually be difficult. :D well thanks anyway.

MAF is plug and play.

That said tuners are worth their weight in gold.
Tuners are best done last in line however. You have the exhaust, get the MAF a TB if you wish and an intake.

Get the tune based on all that.
