Second post here.
I picked up a 98 V8 AWD Mounty in November of last year with about 138K miles. It seems to have been well taken care of, and only a little rusty (Virginia rig). My goal with this rig is another 20 years.
My current planned maintenance schedule is here below - I'd love to hear feedback/ additions to this schedule that you think I should add. I've marked the things I've done since November. I'm planning to take this thing from NC to Alaska this summer - so looking to have it in top shape before then.
Check Tire Pressure (Fill When Needed) - Monthly
Change Oil and Oil Filter - 3,000 miles
Check Belt & Hoses (Replace When Needed) - 3,000
Grease Ball Joints - 3,000
Grease Universal Joints - 3,000
Rotate Tires - 5,000
Check Brake Pads and rotors - 5,000
Clean Battery Terminals - 6,000
Slip Yoke - 7,000
Replace Air Filter - 12,000 - done
Drain and Fill Power Steering Fluid - 15,000 - done
Replace Windshield Wipers - 15,000 - done
Drain and Fill Transfer Case Fluid - 15,000 - done
Clean Idle Air Control (IAC) Valve - 20,000 - done
Clean Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor - 20,000 - done
Drain and Fill Brake Fluid - 20,000
Drain and Fill Engine Coolant - 20,000 - done
Replace Fuel Filter - 20,000 - done
Replace PCV Valve - 30,000 - done
Drain and Fill Transmission Fluid - 30,000
Drain and Fill Front Differential Fluid - 50,000 - done
Drain and Fill Rear Differential Fluid - 50,000
Replace Spark Plugs - 60,000 - done
Drop Transmission Pan, Replace Filter 60,000
Replace Spark Plug Wires - 120,000 - done
The only other thing I'm currently worried about is a hard shift from 1-2 gear, which I'm hoping is just the accumulator spring.
