Making my tires stick out (backspacing etc)

I want to keep my stock 15" rims for now, but I want to make the stance wider on my truck. Are wheel spacers what I am looking for, and is it just a matter of bolting them on?

I've seen them in the Explorer Express (top of page) catalog. They do just bolt on with an offset bolt circle.
