Well, my engine has 260k or so on the block. Original engine, nothing touched except for what's in the signature. After reading many a posts about synthetic oil I am making the jump to it. From what I've read it can work wonders. I certainly hope so. I also hope I'm not going to cause any more trouble by making this switch.

Wish me luck, I'm about to change it over.

My concept, Don't fix it if it isnt broken (atleast when it comes to oil). My Ex has almost 160K on it and it has never seen a drop of synthetic. I am the second owner and just changed it from regular oil to high mileage. If it has worked this long, I am gonna keep it that way. Or atleast until signs point to the fact that I need to change. I do however, like the fact that synthetic can give you better gas mileage.

Well i moved over to the synthetic, i did the oil change right after the last post i made, and i can tell a LITTLE bit of difference... maybe i'm just thinking of it. not sure about gas mileage thus far, i need to do the TPS mod and get a few other things in order before i have a sure figure on mileage.... shocks, springs, balljoints, bearings, lots of stuff i've put off for a LONG time and it's starting to haunt me now.

In order to see better mileage from synthetic really you need to switch all of your fluids over to synthetic. The front and rear differentials and transmission in addition to the engine.
