mass air flow sensor?

ok heres the deal, i think my massairflowsensor is stuck or broken, theres a loud humming coming from my filter...
should i get a new sensor??? or just get a cold air intake, would the cold air fix the problem all together?

Mass air flow sensors have no moving parts, so I doubt it's stuck or humming. Have you taken the intake assembly apart to make sure nothing got sucked in where it doesn't belong?

i took the hose off the air filter, and the humming still continued... once i put my hand on the end of the huse aka choking the air, it would stop and go back to normal... and then as soon as i start it all up again with everything back to normal it would hum, and if i rev it, it'll disapear.
