Alright, I had a vacumehose fall off the other day, and I cant seem to find the hose that fell off.. or where it attaches.. I just plugged it up for temp, seems to run better, but not like it was... ive included some pictures to clear any questions up... it is the port that has the red arrow pointing towards it..
I put the rubber cap on it.. What should be there? and where does this thing go too?
thanks!

I think the rubber cap actually belongs there.. Depending on your vehicle, you can have up to 3 of them capped..

The following lines go to that octopus.. If you have them all, then it was supposed to be capped.

Brake Booster
Cruise Control
egr (on vehicles with them)
small line that goes around the back of the engine to the Fuel Pressure Regulator
mall line that goes around the back of the engine and goes to the top of your air cleaner
Automatic tranismision vacuum modulator (its a hard line most of the way between the trans and the octopus)

I belive I got everything that connects to the octopus.. If I missed something, someone will say.

some things might want to check is the transmission shifting ok? in all gears including od and lockup ?

is the blend door moving when you change the control for the heat and a/c?

if not then you might want to look on top of the transmission and see if there is a vacuum line laying on the bellhousing. or the back of the engine (might have to get a flashlight to look back there or get underneath it and look up.

i'm figuring it might either of those items since from the pics it look like everything else is connected

also thinking it might be the fuel pressure regulator since you said it running kinda funny right.

this will give you some areas to start looking in.

yeah, actually, im thinking its the cruise control being as it hasnt worked right since that happened.. it hits the gas really really hard.. and accellerates to way faster then what you program it to be....

now.. I just drove this thing with 150k original miles and most all original parts from austin texas, to dallas texas, to austin texas, to south padre texas, back to austin, all the way to miami florida, without a problem one. :D
Now all of a sudden I have a vacume line fall off and it seems I have an injector sticking.. as my check engine light is coming on now, and its stumbling on the idle. Plus it REAKS of gas when I first crank it...
guessing thats an injector sticking. lol.
But over all.. for having just bought the vehicle, and only having to replace the electronic shift sensor on the vehicle, to get 4x4 working, its already done alot. :D

also.. I was thinking the fuel pressure regulator might have something to do with the smell of the gas.. ill go check it in a min.. im sure ill figure something out... now.. where is the damn cruise control assembly?

If the diaphram of the FPR ruptured you will get gas in teh vacuum line, which can cause it to blow off. With a working FPR, and no vaccum applied it should read 40psi or so.. with the vacuum line on (at idle) it should show mid to low 30's.. If its disconnected or broken it could cause issues becuase it could be a vacuum leak or just way too much gas..

The Cruise control module is on the drivers side fender, right next to the brake booster.

So I tracked it all down and shes back to purring like a kitten.
It was a vacumehose that was lose on the bottom of the fuel pressure regulator and the one on the cruise control had fallen off completely.
I just replaced the hoses and everythings great again.

Thanks!!

Hello
I just got my '91 Navajo for $500, and I have the same problem....can some one tell me, or show me where to find the FPR.....its been a looooooong time since I been under the hood of a car. I have the same exact hose missing, and it seems like the truck is missing, like a cogged injector.

The FPR is on the left, on the top of the motor connected to the fuel rail. that is when you are standing in "front" of the motor.

~Mark

Near the coil ?.....lolused to be a distributer cap when I was under the hood last.

That side of the engine, but closer to the front, connected to the fuel rail. The fuel rail is the part between the upper intake and the lower intake and is right above the injectors...

~Mark

Man Thanks......bout to try it now.
