While looking in the media center bay, which is under the radio and on the floor shift consol, I noticed what appeared to be some sort of led light next to the latch to open the media door. Is that to illuminate the inside of the media center so that you can connect a usb or flash drive? If it is a light, how do you turn it on .............. or is it an option with certain models. It sure is a dark little space and it would make sense to have a light in there. Am I missing something here? 2012 X xlt

Mine turns on when I activate the head/parking lights.

It's an LED to light up the media bay. It comes on with the parking or headlights. If it seems dim in the bay, ensure that the rubber liner is pushed down fully into the media center bay. It was slightly pulled up in mine thus blocking part of the LED lens making the media bay dark...

I have check this myself, never noticed this light.

Yes, there is a light and works with Parking and headlights on/ off
