2009 Eddie Bauer Explorer
Just got a used 2009 Eddie Bauer Explorer. According to the dealership that sold it to us, the memorized seat positions are programmed to each key (not the fob, but the key itself). I programmed mine, it seemed to work fine. Husband programmed his, and it seemed to work fine as well. The next time I drove it, when I inserted my key into the ignition, it moved the seat to my husband's programmed position instead of mine. Reprogrammed mine, and when my husband drove it again, his key moved the seat to my position. It's like it's only memorizing one position even though we are programming two different ones - it "overwrites" the other's position each time. And no, I'm not using the same "set" button each time - mine is 1, his is 2. Does anyone have any ideas?

You have to program both keys and transmitters with the respective memory positions at the same time (i.e. immediately following one another).

Good luck.

it is tied to the remote not the key.

step 1: adjust seat to the position you want.

Step 2: press set

step 3- press number wanted 1 or 2

Seat is set for the number you want- now to tie into the remote.

step 4- press set

step 5- press unlock on the remote you want

step 6- press the number you set for the seat

Finished
