my girl just unfortunately got totally ripped for one of these. does anyone know what kind of transmission it has? I can't seem to find it anywhere? I need to fix it or replace it unfortunately. It has the duratec v6 in it. i believe it is a GS model maybe or LS, not sure. either way, the tranny is acting up on it and needs immidiate attention and neither one of us has the quoted $800 to fix it. I have moderate hands on mechanical experience with cars because i do my own maintenance on my own, so i hope i can do it myself with the correct parts and tools. any info would be great. thanks

I used to own a Mystake also, trans went south, whining real bad.
Get rid of it-bite the bullet and trade it in. The trans has to be disassembled to get to the filter- which means dropping the front subframe-engine from underneath,

that's unfortunately what i thought as well. I did find that it was the CD4E. It's already getting to the point where i think it's about to lose 2nd and 4th gears. Thanks for the response.
