Hopefully someone can help me.

My brake pedal goes all the way to the floor....and no one seems to know why. It does stop, but I have to put the pedal 3/4 of the way down for a decent stop. In low range I have to put it all the way to the floor(not exagerating) to keep the truck from moving.

I've bled the brakes twice, and its full of fluid. I know this means there might be a leak but I never see any brake fluid on the ground(not even when the ground was covered with snow). I've also stumbled across something about cap vent plugs being clogged up? Whats thats supposed to mean? Also heard that the back brakes might be adjusted wrong...

Any ideas?

Is sounds like you have air in the lines. Did the master cyclinder ever run dry? If so it can be a real PITA to purge the air from it (This requires you to bench bleed it first).

Did you just changer your breaks or something..had work done? ..or did this just happen out of the blue.
When bleeding the breaks you started from back furthest corner to front. DO a complete fluid change..maybe you got some air in the lines close to the booster. In this case you will have to basically flush out all the old fluid and when the new fluid bleeds out then you definately know you have no air in line.
you might have a bad master cylinder..maybe it is not sealing correctly. so instead of just pushing fluid to the breaks it is leaking past its seals and loosing pressure.

I've never changed the brakes or had work done ot them. The brakes did this ever since i got the truck.

When I push the pedal to the floor it sound like air going through a tube really fast...like a hissing sound. Also when i push the brakes to the floor really fast the RPM droves by like 200, meaning theres a vacuum leak?

sounds like your power booster might be bad.

What are those worth and how much work to change it?

I know master cylinders are a sinch to change. My wifes old accord used to do the same thing and when I changed the master cylinder the problem was gone and breaking was perfect.

The booster noise is normal.

The problem is in the hydraulics.... I suspect it's either air in the lines, or a bad master cylinder. If it wasn't doing it before the brake job, what changed? Are you low on fluid? It's not tough to get them bled.... it takes two people to do it right, and some time.

Ok, we understand you didn't do any work, but how long have you had the truck? It sounds to me like you recently bought it (as I can't believe you'd be driving like this for any length of time).

How good are the pads, and linings?

ah crap...same thing happened to me about 3 months ago....thats weird...mine was a weird combination....we had just put new rotors, calipers and pads on my x.....prolly shoulda replaced to master cylinder too....it was a combo af a bad master cylinder & air in the lines....when u get a new master cylinder...make sure and bench bleed the damn thing or its gonna be hell trying to bleed your brakes or even getting them to work properly....

When in doubt bleed it more. Just keep doing it until the new fluid comes out of all of the bleeder valves. I would definately change the pads too along with that master cylinder. Your looking at a couple hours of work. If you don't have anyone to help you bleed the brakes, just buy some clear tubing that can fit over the bleeder valve and put the other end into a bottle filled with a little break fluid to keep the end submerged.Loosen your valve and pump the pedal untill you see clean fluid flow into tubing. You can also buy a bleeder kit from auto store.
