Meter back lights?

Okay so my problem is the light behind the meters is..well not there. Im guessing they are bulbs that have burnt out. Here is a pic for reference...
This is a 99 explorer xlt btw.

Couple Questions...
1: Is this hard to replace by myself?( I have some mechanical skills I would be able to pull the dash out if necessary. )
2: Can I change the Color?

Most threads I have found are about the overhead lights I imagine.

if you want to change the color, check the back of the gauge faces - some usually have a thin "film" coating that you can scratch / scrape off.

from after you've scraped the coating, you can use whatever color light you want

Thanks for the replies.

All Those threads are alot of help.

I think Im going to replace the bulbs( Being that some are already blown )
And Put in some red ones. Slso scrape the film off the back
