Hi All,
Those of you with the 2013 Limited (or others). With the 3.8 update does it remove the temperature setting on your right side info display? I remember there was either an upadate or something that removed a feature. How can we get a list of features that were added, removed and changed. The syncmyride site just lists new features, but along with new comes changed and removed - would be nice to know all that before updating to 3.8...right?

Yes. After the update it was turned off by default, but during the pairing process it gave me the option to turn it back on.

It used to be if you didn't allow the vehicle to run 911 Assist would not install. They must have fixed that.

Hi Rebecca. One member was able to successfully load the update without the vehicle running. Do you know if there anything that may be missed by the update in this case?

Hi Peter,

If the update is stopped in the middle, it could potentially make the system unusable and you'll have to go to the dealer to have them correct it. While it's possible to perform the update successfully without the engine running, I don't recommend it.

It removed the outside temperature on mine and adjusted the clock one hour forward and turned off the 911 assist. Those were the only things obvious to me, but when I adjusted the clock, I turned the outside temperature display back on and also turned back on the 911 assist. Not sure what else it turned off or on.

It would be nice to see a complete list of new features and/or changes.

It used to be if you didn't allow the vehicle to run 911 Assist would not install. They must have fixed that.

I pushed the push button start until the gauges lit up, I just didn't start it. I didn't see a point in letting it run when it has power and wouldn't just shut off. Let the update run and in about 20 minutes it was done and good to go.

2. When we should expect "Ok Google" if at all?
3. When you are going to return song progress bar with time elapsed/total time which was removed from 2.XX versions? That was one of the biggest mistake developer's team has made...

I'll answer your questions to the best of my ability, Denis:

1. There weren't any features removed in this update; however, this update does incorporate v3.7, so you will see changes when updating from v3.6.2 to v3.8.

2. and 3. While I cannot comment on Google Now availability or new/old features being added in the future, I can say we're always working or enhancements. These are both great ideas to post on our Social.Ford.com site so our product engineers see them.

I updated from 3.7 to 3.8 in my 2014 Sport and have noticed that since the update, I am no longer able to use the seek button on the steering wheel or the buttons on the radio screen to jump to the next or previous song when playing google play music over Bluetooth (Samsung S5). Is anyone else having this problem? It is not convenient to have to pick up the phone to change songs when I did not have to do this before the update. If this functionality is gone, I would like to reinstall the old version since the updates do not provide any value to me.

I am currently updating the software to 3.8 on my 16 sport through cf card and card reader. 56 min past and only 2 percent completed showing. Took me 30 min to 1% completed. Is this normal?

It's because of flash card or adapter or both not being capable of high speed.
Why dont you just use regular USB drive?

MFT updates are not related to the right side info display, so no it won't remove that feature.

You should be using a USB drive as the instructions mentioned. It took me about 20 minutes, as others have also posted. If you have the engine running, better make sure you have enough gas in the tank to finish the update. As Rebecca mentioned, stopping it before it has completed the installation could lead to more issues where you would have to take it to the dealer.

It did not delete saved destinations in navigation. Or was that fixed in 3.7?

Rebecca is absolutely correct BTW. Never interrupt a SYNC upgrade unless you like waiting at the dealer.

Updating to 3.8 should be completely wiping all settings. It is basically re-imaging the base programming of the unit. That is what the status bar with percent is showing.
