Got a low windshield washer light on the Explorer today so I popped the hood and found a mouse had gnawed off the edges of my engine cover and tried to make a nest between the cover and the air intake tube!:mad::mad:

I really need to get that garage done ASAP....

Or drive more.:)

Your insurace will cover this. What's your deductable?

It's driven every day.

My deductible is too high to make it worth my time. Right now it's just cosmetic.

My office is a whopping 7 miles from my house. It gets driven daily in the winter when the Mustangs are parked, so it just doesn't see the mileage.

Fixes that problem by having you commute to Philly 3 times a week

Does he have a little seatbelt so he doesn't fall out?:)

Are you allergic to cats?

Yes, but I have on anyways. If he gets a whiff of it, it won't last too long.

No, but I'm thinking about a little seatbelt wrapped tightly around his neck!

You found herman! :p

Die Herman...Die...

This is what the little fugger did:

I know this one is kind of blurry, but he chewed on the back side of the cutout for the thumbscrew.

And the nest he started before I pulled it off the motor.

A couple of mouse baits zip tied in the engine bay will sort any more of the bugger's that decide to make your X home mate. They are about an inch square and made of a waxy substance so don't put them on anything too hot!

I hate the *******s as they ate my main wiring loom and I lost 4x4, utter utter utter utter *******s!!!! Aaah that feels better :)

No prob's since fitting the bait's, should come factory standard!

And I thought the new MFT wasn't out yet? Mouse Feeding Table

I ordered mine without a mouse

I had a 92 Cougar that a mouse got into the trunk. Luckily it did didn't do any damage. But the irony of a mouse getting into a Cougar priceless.

Moth balls might be another solution. I put them all around my 50s car in a garage. Never had an issue as yet...

Do you need a microscope to collect moth ball's or do you leave them on the moth?

Wow, good thing he chose that cover and not the wires...

My old lawn tractor was overheating one time so I pulled the metal engine shroud off and found a mouse nest castle, including the king mouse himself, fried and toasted. One time someone posted pictures of a mouse nest inside the dome light. It crawled up the pillar and under the headliner I guess. Outrageous.

dryer sheets work well to, with out the urinal smell.

Mouse bait - poison cube, green in color can be bought at any hardware store, throw a few of these in the corners and tight areas of your garage and they'll kill them. If you have a dog, cat or kids put them in areas where they can't be touched. Remove any food sources that may have attracted them in the first place into your garage, like bird seed, trash or dog food. Mice will nest near their food sources.

By the way if you have 1 mouse, you probably have 10. These cubes work great, they basically dehydrate them, they die dried up, so there is no stink.

I use them in my covered center console fishing boat for mice squirrels and chipmunks - never have had a problem since I began using them.
