yes, you're probably safe to assume that a michelin will give a better road ride than a BFG. You have to decide whats important to you. BFG's have a 3 ply sidewall which makes them stronger (but also heavier). Then again, Michelin's are known to wear like iron and have great road manners... I'm certain if you do a search you will find more than enough information. If you want good grip and a great ride, I would personally recommend the Bridgestone Dueler AT REVO's... They are the highest ranked AT tire on the market (Tire Rack, 1010tires.com, epinions, etc) and they ride great on the road and see my pics for their capability off road...
