F150 seats are fine as long as you get it aligned. You will probably need camber shims to do this. 4 inches of spring is NOT OK. It isnt safe. That kind of thing has no place on the streets or trails

Well since no one is a big fan of meeting now, lets just plan a weekend run at silver lake.... Im up there quite a bit and i know holeshotracer is also... It would be a great run, for stock-to modified-to highly modified.

Well for one simple thing camber would be so far off that when turning the truck will want to roll. It will also have a much smaller tire contact patch with the road. Leaving out the whole fact that the springs would be in a terrible position. There is a reason lift kits use drop brackets, it isnt just so they can charge more. Vehicles like one with big springs and no brackets are the reason I think michigan should have an inspection. Some vehicles are scary and shouldnt be on the road

who said i drove it on the street i believe i said it was a trail rig and i did the alignment using camber bushings and radius arm bushings and my alignment isn't that bad i had stock vehicles come and go from my shop with worse alignments then what my B2 has, everybody modifies all kinds of things to make things work, look at the modifactions involved in installing a SAS, you modify it to make it work and be safe

So you tow it to and from trails? The part about an SAS is true. However with an SAS I have yet to see a vehicle with a terrible camber issue. My springs bow out a tiny bt and I considder this a problem. I would bet yours bow out like hell. Dont you think that if you come down hard off a rock you are putting a major side load on the spring? your little J clips wont make a huge difference. There really isnt a debate here. Its just a bad thing to do. A truck like this has no place on the road.

its mighty big of your to break down my work and my truck for never seeing what i've done with it, just because some idiot installed their springs and had a prob. doesn't mean that everbody else has done it the same way, i've jumped my truck, slammed hills, rocks, holes , come down on one wheel first and have never had a prob or have any issue that needed addressing, those little clips are 1/4 steel that are bolted with grade 8 bolts and wrap around the coil. you can sure pick stuff apart for never seeing it,
MY CAMBER ISN"T BAD WHEN I ALIGNED IT I WAS ONLY ABOUT .65 FROM A COMFORTABLE SPEC. you act as if my camber was like 10 degrees positive or somethin

the only thing that affects my alignment is gaurd rails. it only took two to knock my steering so thats not center. hey 351 or cheaphrills either of the places you guys work at do alignments. one thing that i need to do is four new shocks soon.

I am breaking it down based on fact, physics, and geometry. (you have been lucky) If you truly have 3 or 4 inches of spring lift then your camber ISNT close. ".65 from a comfortable number" This isnt a good thing even in the super unlikely event you got it that close. Prove me wrong. What camber shims did you use?

Oh lets not forget that the design of the TTB is such that Caster is directly effected also. it is impossible for what you have done to allow alignment. And it has no place on the road. Debating fact is useless.

i don't know what your problem is, you verbal attack me and my truck yet you know nothing about me or my truck, i hope your not a spokeman for this sight, i took your first post into consideration and explained my thoughts then you attack me and tell me i have no place on the road or trails, when did i piss in your wheaties. and their not SHIMS they are ball joint bushings and i have nothing to prove to you, you have some bug up your butt, i don't need to justify anything or prove anything to you to get your approval, i know what works for my rig and how i like it, everbody does their own things differently, if you can't accept how i did mine then thats your problem, not mine, and for what its worth its all irrelevent, thats truck not driveable because i blew the motor and broke an axle and i probably won't fix it because i bought an Explorer to replace it. Why keep trying to debate your truck had a problem. Mine has a few problems also, I have done a few things wrong just like anyone else. I have learned. Please learn from this.

THere was no verbal attack. Perhaps you take things to personaly. I do know a thing or 2 about the first gen explorer, as I imagine you also do. I know speciicaly what will work right and what will not on stock components. Do some looking around on this site and you will find that same information from other people than just me. You are right they are camber bushings, many shops call them shims anyway. The reason I asked which ones you had is because they dont make one that would get your alignment set. Fact is not debateable. The biggest is a 2.75 degree and its not overly common. Anyway I am glad its no longer driving around that way. Do some reading on this site, its a great place to learn what can be done safely and propperly and good cost effective ways to do it.

Seriously, he is a mechanic I would hope from one mechanic to another he would know what is safe on the road and what it not safe. For all we know this could be a temp setup just to get him by.

it was an awesome day for some wheelin, i buried my EX past its bumber, did alright for its first time out, ran crappy though gonna have to fix that, yeah i'm gonna look into getttin a winch though it was a bit of work to get me out, but we managed, holshot did pretty well for not havin any 4x4, went everywhere everbody else went
